NY Conservatives Ready To Sell Their Souls and Our Environment to the Demon Spawn Landmen Who Represent Marcellus Shale Gas Interests Such as Chesapeake Energy

In what is not a big surprise, the rabid foaming of the mouth right wing religious zealots who want to take away women's rights to pass a budget in Washington DC have their local groups busy as well...trying to steal a bit of thunder created with the Anti-Fracking groups planned March on Albany this coming Monday April 11th, the Hudson River Valley Conservatives have issued a memo to the press basically saying, "Drill Baby Drill".  They apparently are far more interested in EASY FAST MONEY than they are about peoples health, about peoples home values.  Are more interested in sleeping with the (un)Natural Gas industry than protecting our Clean Drinking Water, and pristine natural beauty.

THEIR MEMO...

Party Position:  According to the Department of Labor, as of February 2011, the upstate non-metro counties in New York have a 10% rate of unemployment.  New York needs jobs and New York needs energy.  Exploring and extracting natural gas from the Marcellus Shale provides both.

At what cost NY Conservative Party?  Is your greed blinding you to the dangers of Hydraulic Fracking in our rural communities, or is it that you just never cared?

Hydraulic fracturing was first used 100 years ago and in 1949, the first commercial fracturing was preformed (By scum bag environmental raper Halliburton).  For 40 years, geologists and engineers perfected the process and by so doing, it has brought new life to old oil and gas wells and has made it an integral part of our energy strategy.

Even the Natural Gas industry admits there are some SERIOUS RISKS to this technology.  Look at the damage done to Pittsburgh Clean Drinking Water supplies as example of the risks.  What happens to the New York state economy if say FRACKING despoils and poisons the fresh drinking water supply for NYC?

More than 30 state and federal regulatory agencies have studied the industry and have concluded that the technology is safe and well regulated.

The above statement is a categorical LIE!

Geologist Gary Lash, a professor at SUNY-Fredonia and Terry Englander, a geosciences professor at Penn State estimated that the Marcellus might contain more than 500 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and that with the horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing methods used in the Barnett Shale of Texas, approximately 10% might be recovered.  Just 10% would be enough to supply the entire United States for two years!

HMMM....so, you would RUIN OUR LANDS, poison our waters, destroy property values ALL FOR TWO YEARS OF GAS?  We are truly seeing how sick and twisted New York's Conservative party really is if they are willing to do this much damage for two years worth of (un)Natural Gas.

In 2006, the Barnett Shale of Texas was responsible for creating 55,385 permanent new jobs and it is estimated to have contributed $491 million to Texas and $228 to local governments.  It is also estimated that by 2015, the Barnett Shale may be responsible for more than 108,000 jobs in the area.  While some lawsuits have been filed in Texas, those who do not own the mineral rights under their property file the most complaining about eyesores and noise, safety has not been the issue.

Maybe these Conservatives should A) watch Gasland, and B) Get a heart transplant, as it is obvious their own has ceased to function.  Would challenge them to prove their SPURIOUS remarks above.

Simply put:  Hydraulic fracturing means jobs and energy for New Yorkers.

Curious NY Conservatives....have you even bothered to see how much of OUR NATURAL GAS reserves here in NY and across America have already been sold to FOREIGN INTERESTS...go look and see how much of our Natural Gas is OWNED BY CHINA just through CNOOC.

It is time to put people back to work and to become less dependent on others for our energy needs.  Hydraulic fracturing is certainly not a new concept and the newest technology has made it possible for the relatively safe extraction of natural gas.

OMG....notice how dastardly SNEAKY the NY Conservative Party is....blah blah blah through the whole memo, then they HEDGE THEIR BET with the words above, " the newest technology has made it possible for the relatively safe extraction of natural gas."  RELATIVELY SAFE...can you tell us your DEFINITION of relatively safe...you DISGUST ME.

What are we waiting for?

About Hdraulic Fracturing...The (un)Natural Extraction Process Threatening A Way of Life

Hydraulic fracturing as used in the (un)natural gas industry, commonly referred to as fracking (FRACK), is a dangerous and unproven technological advancement which allows natural gas producers to  recover natural gas from deep shale formations at great costs to local communities being FORCED to play host to wells that can number into the hundreds.  This discovery has the potential to destroy the natural beauty of our rural communities, despoil and contaminate our potable water supplies, and visit upon us as humans a myriad number of health issues from minor skin irritations, breathing difficulties, and even birth defects and cancers. Contrary to the industries claims, shale gas drilling will not dramatically reduce our national carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and will not accelerate our transition to a carbon-light environment. In fact, the releases of gas shale methane into the environment, the constant burns will likely INCREASE our Green House gas problem, not correct it.Simply put, deep shale gas formation development is dangerous to America's energy needs, dangerous and disruptive to our fresh drinking water supplies,  and the short term economic renewal will be more than offset by the long term costs of restoration of destroyed environments.

So called experts with vested interests in the unsafe practive of Shale Gas Drilling have known for years that natural gas deposits existed in deep shale formations and they needed to find ways to extract them at all costs to increase their own bottom line profit pictures.  So, in a horrible remake of the movie "Back to the Future, these predatory creatures went back to Halliburton technology and looked for ways to make it more sinister, more damaging to our environments...sure, they knew the risks to human health and the environment could be dangerous, but the question they wanted answered was but one, "Would it make our gas leases more profitable?  Sadly for those of us living atop the Marcellus Shale formation, that answer was yes. Today, with the unsafe and not fully understood use of hydraulic fracturing, combined with sophisticated horizontal drilling, both of which can increase seismic activity, extraordinary amounts of deep shale (un)natural gas from across the United States is being  produced with the costs to local communities, our drinking water supplies and human health being all but ignored in the name of National Security and PROFITS.

With Obama all but giving the (un)Natural Gas Industry and Shale Gas Drilling a collective bear hug, we need to ask ourselves, "What cost is fair to ask small rural communities to pay in the name of the greater societal good?"  Is it fair to ask small Rural Communities to ruin our pristine natural beauty for CHEAP GAS?  Is it fair to ask us to have our health, the health of our children greatly impacted upon in the name of supposed National Security?  Is it fair to destroy our potable water, despoil our streams, ponds and water ways in the name of kicking the oil habit?  Please share your thoughts, because I find these costs unacceptable...especially since many of these same rural communities have PAID THIS COST before...look at both the timbering and coal industry as examples.  How many have seen what strip mining has done in both Ohio and West Virginia?  How many stands of virgin timber remain in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York?  When can the folks in Rural America just say no to the demands of a Suburban/Urban population who seems incapable of controlling their hunger for consumptions of goods and energy?

What is Chesapeake Energy Hiding?...Go look at this Chesapeake Gas Drilling fire video, and ask yourselves why it is that the ability to comment on it, why the ability to embed the link has been DISABLED!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiLRJeE8h2w

9 Marcellus Shale Stocks With TOP BUY Ratings, and WHY YOU SHOULD NOT

NEW YORK (TheStreet) does not seem to have a social conscious apparently...least ways not when it talks about Marcellus Shale Stocks that should be in an investors portfolio.  Suppose if you are ALL ABOUT GREED, do not care about the environment, have no real concerns about protecting our drinking water supply, and have no qualms about negatively impacting human health, their suggestions are good ones.  However, if you are a socially evolved being, if you have compassion for your fellow man, if environmental and social issues are something you care about, you might want to think about DIVESTING YOURSELF of any of these holdings, rather than investing in them.

Chesapeake Energy(CHK) Their partner in Marcellus Shale went into a deferment program under a plea deal arrangement to avoid criminal prosecution for BRIBING POLITICIANS.  Furthermore, Chesapeake Energy is the most frequently charged violator of DEP regulations in the state of PA...maybe that is why the Governor will not let inspectors issue citations without first getting permission from higher ups?  God forbid that abiding by the laws put in place to protect human health and the environment should interfere with company profits.

Penn Virginia (PVA)  For starters...WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rigrodsky & Long, P.A. announces that it is investigating potential claims against Penn Virginia GP Holdings, L.P. (“PVG” or the “Company”) (NYSE: PVG) concerning possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of law related to the Company’s entry into an agreement to be acquired by Penn Virginia Resource Partners, L.P. (“PVR”) (NYSE: PVR).Seriously folks, simple Google Searches find unsavory facts about every one of "The Streets" buy recommendations...guess ethics do not count?

Just in the state of PA. you can see a HOST OF VIOLATIONS totally over 1400.

Carrizo Oil & Gas (CRZO)Just one example...March 18, 2010, Carrizo Oil and Gas, Rush Township.Failure to restore site within nine months of completion of drilling or plugging. Well drilling was completed April 19, 2009. Fracking was completed Aug. 24, 2009. Well is completed and not yet in production. Site ID is still in place, no well tag in place.

If It Sounds Too Good To Be True, Your Community Has Probably Been Listening to A Landman...Calls For Morantorium on State Permits on Marcellus Wells Picking Up Speed

Pick an old adage..."what glistens is not gold", "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is" and they all seem to fit the BOLD PROMISES(lies) being made by self serving parties that has created the GOLD RUSH frenzy in the (un)Natural Gas industry as companies and landmen fall over each other in what may be one of the biggest land/resource grabs in American history.  Better late than never, communities and some politicians are waking up, starting to ask questions that the Natural Gas Industry does not want to answer, and as these people learn more, the rally cry calling for a Moratorium on the issuance of Shale Gas state permits is growing...the latest call comes with a bit of CLOUT as Delegates Barbara Fleischauer (Monongalia County) and Mike Mannypenny (Taylor County) and 21 other Delegates have joined in calling for a moratorium on any new permits for Marcellus gas wells in the state of West Virginia.

Special Thanks to Frack Check WV for the heads up on this important story.
